BACademy Awards 2025

Nomination and Award Process

• BAC admin team chooses jury
  Jury members are club members and prolific anime watchers carefully chosen to cover widest range of 2024 titles
• Jury chooses categories and nominees
  Extensive dialogue between jury members determines this; shortlists are merged to create final consensus lists
• Voting opened for People’s Choice categories
  Jury decides which categories to open for public voting; Google Form shared on BAC groups
• Public voting period ends; jury discusses Jury Choice candidates
  These take place simultaneously to avoid the former biasing the latter
• Jury Choice decided; final awards ceremony
  Internal voting and debate used to arrive at consensus

Nomination Rules and Considerations

• Anime Series
  Must have started airing in 2024
• Anime Films
  Must have screened in India in 2024. Films are not eligible for Audiovisual prize categories, in interest of fairness.
• Manga
  Must have 5 volumes or less in English by end of 2024. Must be no older than 2019. Must not be a reprint.
• Characters
  Must have debuted or shown significant character evolution in 2024. Need not be in an eligible anime.
• Country of Origin
  Anime (series and films) must be Japanese productions animated by Japanese studios; source material need not be Japanese. Manga must be published in a Japanese manga magazine.
